FRIDAY FAVORITES: THINGS WE LOVE THIS WEEK
Thanks for dropping in! Every Friday I feature news & stories I love in the week. Mostly marketing or small business focused, I also share some things I just generally like. Well, because why not?

This one is a bit of a departure from what I usually share, but this guy is amazing!
Last year my husband I took trip to Yosemite over Memorial Day weekend and to say this place is amazing is an understatement. Yosemite is a gorgeous, granite-slated place that takes your breath away the moment you enter the park and see the initial view of El Capitan.
It’s nothing short of amazing, and that’s just to look at. Here comes Alex Honnold free climbing the wall (that’s without ropes up 3,200 feet of rock). His feat is nothing short of an athleticism you only see in one lifetime, but his determination to do what he loves & his ability to go after it despite relenting fear… well, that’s the best story of all.
I can not wait for this documentary to come out, check it out!
When I think back 10 years ago when I was just getting started in social media, I didn’t understand the behemoth it would become today but I knew it was important to be a part of it for businesses. I started social media for one organization, and quickly expanded it for several others.
Today, I believe it is not only a very important part of business but if you’re not approaching your social you are quite literally losing business. The world of digital has changed, it will continue to change, are you keeping up?
Check out this ad from Rx Bar. If you’re not familiar with the snack bar that’s been rolling across the nation, you can take a lesson from branding and good business from them. Rx Bar is a no bullshit bar that puts its (usually 3-5) ingredients right on the front of its package. No more. No less.
When it comes to what they’re about, it really is no B.S. For those of us who are trying to eat healthier in our lives, or generally living with a food allergy like myself that leaves you reading more ingredient lists than you care to admit, this brand is perfection.
Insert their newest commercial. A no non-sense commercial that gets straight to the point, “Buy chocolate sea salt Rx Bar. Or not, whatever. I’m just saying some words in a commercial.”
It’s again, perfection. Straight to the point, gets over marketers who try to oversell and outsmart consumers as if they don’t know they’re watching a commercial (I’m looking at you every restaurant in America).
And I like it.
